IA will do an assessment and inventory of web properties , LI assets, who’s involved and who isn’t. Utilizing an org chart  to create a baseline of company involvement and efficiency. Getting users set up in system, as well as periodic drip informational campaign for the “Average Joe” lessons.</p>
<p>2. Launch Event</p>
<p>IA will host a launch event specifically optimized for the organization it is used for. This can range in services as simple as a webinar, virtual presentation, all the way to a physical speaking presentation for all employees involved.</p>
<p>The nature of the launch is to give a more intimate, live walkthrough of how the IAU works. Additionally, it will be a catalyst to spark interest and enthusiasm for the program.</p>
<p>Whether at a conference, a localized event, or otherwise.  Attencdance encouraged, not required, meant specically to create fervor for program.</p>

<p>3. The Program</p>
<p>The IAU program is an exclusive, proprietary learning tool that will facilitate the personalized instruction. The IAU is completely virtual, systematic, and will replicate the same results a physical learning center would provide. The university allows the end user to receive the learning in segmented doses, keeping allowances for productive work time available.  Catered to sales reps, it is on demand, intended to be available however and whereever they learn best.  Whether this be video, text, or demo, the approach appeals to every learning style.  Is available for customer-specific training material.</p>
<p>The program itself is optimized to be completed in 4, 6 weeks ,or 12 week segments.  It is available for up to a year for employees that either weren’t present at launch, or wish to engage in the advanced learning modules. The scope of the system is customized to only include data releveant to learning, with additional non-essential modules available following completeion of 4 track learning.</p>

<p>Recently an acquaintance on LinkedIn was interested in being introduced to a third level connection. Unfortunately on LinkedIn some wires got crossed. Using LinkedIn to expand your network is excellent, but there are definitely ways you do <em>not</em> want to go about it. If there is another means to be introduced to a third level connection, definitely do it. If you must request an introduction, take care that it does not go through any sort of competitor or manager.  I have posted the messages below to help you all avoid these same errors!</p>

When you send an introduction request to a third level connection, LinkedIn gives you an option of who to send it through if you have more than one way to get to them, but they don’t allow us to choose who to send it though. Angie is a third level contact to you and Melissa popped up as the person to send the message through. I&#8217;m directly connected to her and she&#8217;s connected to Angie.</em><em></em></p>
<p>If you have a paid account I&#8217;d recommend using inmails for third level connections in the future. If you don&#8217;t have a paid account, you can purchase inmails, or if you can send me the person&#8217;s profile url, I can send one on your behalf.</p>

<p>There have been a lot of changes recently, not the least of which is forced upon us via the wonderment of technology. People forget sometimes that they are interacting online with real people on the other side of that computer screen.We can get so fragmented by being pulled into too many directions; the syndrome even affects <a title="Connect with The LinkedIn Rockstars!" href="http://www.rockstarnetworking.com" target="_blank"><span class="zem_slink">LinkedIn</span> Rockstars</a>!</p>
<p>Then, someone  passionate about their cause stands up and cries out loud for people to come together for their common good. I was completely impressed by such a LinkedIn message I recently received, I just had to stand up and spread the word with him. Here&#8217;s what Ed had to say about his industry association:</p>

<p>I have written several posts featuring the 10 most connected women on <a class="zem_slink" title="LinkedIn" rel="homepage" href="http://www.linkedin.com">LinkedIn</a>. Yesterday, I was at 17,999 first level connections. It was such a cool number that I had to take a screen shot. After accepting 43<a href="http://www.linkedin.com/in/loriruff" target="_blank"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-3186" style="margin: 12px;" title="17,999 connections" src="http://www.integratedalliances.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/17999-connections-300x226.jpg" alt="Lori Ruff tops 18,000 LinkedIn Connections" width="300" height="226" /></a> invitations today, I&#8217;m now over the 18,000 mark.  Can you believe I forgot to get a screen shot of the actual 18,000? I was accepting invites and replying and just got carried away with the new possible opportunities!</p>
<p>Although I was pleased to have moved up the overall list by 15 places, I remain the 9th most connected woman on LinkedIn.  But that&#8217;s OK. There are still only 10 in the top 150 and that last spot changes the most. It would be nice if there were more women in the top 150 people, so, if you&#8217;re an open networker and would like people to connect with you to help you move up, leave a comment below with a link to your LinkedIn profile.</p>
<p>The second step is to read the <a title="The Top Ten Women on LinkedIn" href="http://www.rocktheworldbook.com/linkedin/top-tenwomen" target="_blank">original post</a> that provides some helpful network growing tips and follow them!</p>
<p>Third, connect to the super-connected women listed below. Tell them you found them here and ask for their favorite network growing tip.</p>
<p>Finally, be patient and keep working. This isn&#8217;t something you achieve overnight.</p>

<p>One point of social media is to help you get to know people who you can relate to. It helps you find and nurture new relationships that bring value and helps you enhance existing relationships. It doesn&#8217;t replace face to face, but it sure helps!</p>
<p>This weekend we&#8217;re at Mike&#8217;s family digs outside of <a class="zem_slink" title="Minneapolis" rel="homepage" href="http://www.minneapolismn.gov/">Minneapolis</a> and it&#8217;s interesting to us that the things we share with those who don&#8217;t follow us online are very similar to what we share with those who do. For example, I&#8217;ve been posting articles highlighting the people who contributed to our upcoming book &#8220;<a title="Rock the World with Social Media" href="http://rocktheworld2.com" target="_blank">Rock The World with Social Media</a>&#8220;. As we&#8217;ve been sharing news with the family, we&#8217;ve been talking about those very people and the part they played in our project. We&#8217;ve filled them in on the audio companion and other projects, just like we post on <a class="zem_slink" title="LinkedIn" rel="homepage" href="http://www.linkedin.com">LinkedIn</a>, blogs, Facebook, and <a class="zem_slink" title="Twitter" rel="homepage" href="http://twitter.com">Twitter</a>.</p>
<p>The conversation has also mirrored our Twitter streams.  Actually sometimes our Twitter posts happened on the tail of a good conversation; so in reality, we shared online what was happening in real life. Its amazing to us, as we live the social media lifestyle, that the two parts of our lives &#8212; online and off &#8212; seem very interchangeable. It&#8217;s just another data point that tells me that online social networking isn&#8217;t going anywhere. In fact, I see it expanding as people use it to expand their reach, their influence, and their own personal interactions.</p>

<p><a title="Affcon 2010 conference" href="http://www.affcon2010.com" target="_blank">Affcon</a> is about affiliate marketing, the business of one person selling another&#8217;s product and getting a share of the profit. It&#8217;s big business and one that we are now getting into with our <a title="Rock The World Book Site" href="http://www.rocktheworldbook.com" target="_blank">Rock The World Books</a> and <a href="http://rocktheworld.tv" target="_blank">training videos</a>.</p>
<p>This industry has its stars and two of the biggest were here, <strong>Joel Comm</strong> (<a title="Joel Comm Twitter Page" href="http://twitter.com/joelcomm" target="_blank">@joelcomm</a>) and <strong>Tim Ash</strong> (<a title="Tim Ash Twitter Page" href="http://twitter.com/tim_ash" target="_blank">@Tim_Ash</a>). <p>Both Joel and Tim know its about inspiring people first and embedding a specially crafted educational message in the &#8220;data stream&#8221; so the content they deliver is rich yet easy to absorb.</p>

<p>After years of struggling on LinkedIn with check boxes (scrolling a list, checking box after box, scrolling some more, checking box after box, etc.) my business partner <a title="Lori Ruff" href="http://www.twitter.com/loriruff">Lori Ruff</a>  finally stepped in and showed me a shortcut. So, this is really HER post you might say.  Lori was a Microsoft Certified trainer previous to being a<em><strong> The</strong></em> <strong><em>LinkedIn Diva</em></strong>.</p>
<p>If you are staring on your LInkedIn screen at a list that has check boxes included in it, like when sending a message to a group of people, you can use a series of space bar (right hand) and tab key (left hand) that will let you go do 50 selections in almost no time.</p>
<p>You still must go one letter of the alphabet at a time in MOST cases. It doesn&#8217;t skip from the end of one letter to the beginning of the next. Still, it is heaven when you are doing sends on LinkedIn.  Thanks Lori!</p>

<p>I am confident that she will agree. Most people will. Then, if she has something available, the contact will have been made. And if she knows anyone else you should speak to, she will be more likely to be able to provide a solid introduction having done an intial interview herself.</p>

I’ve been waiting for more information along with everyone else, trying to find time to read the relevant blogs. Getting Mike’s book off to the publisher and getting through a very busy week were my highest priorities however, so I was surprised to see the new interface when I logged on this evening.</p>
<p>I had intended to accept pending invitations quickly before heading out to some networking events. My plans for the evening changed. We immediately sat down to start working through the changes to see what changed, what worked and what questions might come up because our clients, friends, and fans couldn’t find familiar features on new screens.</p>
<p>What a pleasant environment to navigate! The screens are cleaner, the important information I want is easier to find, the profiles more readable. It is as if a three column blog site morphed instantly into two wider columns with easier navigation at the top instead of taking up so much real estate on the left. The home page is less cluttered and the screens more intuitive to navigate.</p>
<p>If you don’t see the new interface yet, be patient. I am sure this will roll out systematically. There are no “Beta” comments and with the rumors of the new styling, I am fairly confident it is here to stay.</p>
<p>With the recent addition of intelligent Twitter integration, the addition of the SAP application, and the reinstatement of being able to sort by number of connections, it is possible that LinkedIn designers and management are listening to users. This could be heralding a shift in the relationship of LinkedIn with its user community. Way cool guys… way cool.</p>

<p><strong>To add this new feature</strong>, updating your status will initiate a pop up box, or you can go to your Account and Settings tab and select &#8220;Twitter Settings&#8221; under &#8220;Profile Settings&#8221;.</p>
<p>Now, if we could only get the Tweeters at LinkedIn to understand that followers cannot send them a direct message unless they follow them back&#8230; but that&#8217;s another story.</p>

<p>Two examples are from Twitter and other media that allowed a response and reaction to the shocking news of the death of “King of Pop” icon Michael Jackson or the recent B.E.P performance in Chicago kicking off Oprah’s 24<sup>th</sup> TV season.</p>

The top five LinkedIn profiles with the most votes will be featured in Mike’s book, “Rock the World With Your Online Presence,” to be released later next month.</p></div>

Lewis’s presentation put the icing on the cake of things I needed to focus on in my profile to make me get noticed as an expert in my field.</div>

The top five LinkedIn profiles with the most votes will be featured in Mike’s book, “Rock the World With Your Online Presence,” to be released later next month.</div>

Lewis’s presentation put the icing on the cake of things I needed to focus on in my profile to make me get noticed as an expert in my field.</div>

<p>Take a closer look LinkedIn people.  I see 4 profiles, although only 2 really look like they are her own doing (and on purpose).  <strong>This puts her in direct violation of the LinkedIn End User License Agreement</strong> that permits only 1 LinkedIn profile per individual.  Barack has 1, McCain has 1, Hilary has 1, <strong>we all can have only 1.</strong></p>
<p>Rather than change the old one, why not just start a new one?  Do you think she understands this stuff (or do you think her publicist understands this &#8220;LinkedIn stuff&#8221;?  Apparently not.</p>
<p>She is still a nominee according to one profile as you can see.  Her entire Summary &#8211; &#8220;My fellow Americans, come join our cause. Join our cause and help our country to elect a great man the next president of the United States. And I thank you, and I &#8212; God bless you, I say, and God bless America. Thank you.&#8221;  She list this as her current position &#8211; <strong>Vice Presidential Nominee at John McCain 2008.</strong></p>
