When I heard that Triberr.com was having their first annual TribeUpNYC, I immediately checked our calendar and tried to figure out how I could get The LinkedIn Rockstars there.
Technically, I was only half successful. Mike is in Phoenix this week fulfilling a couple of private training gigs and won’t be on the plane home until Saturday. Then there’s the “OMG NY! How am I going to find a convenient hotel and who should I meet while I’m there?” question. So I put out the word to my NYC network that I’d be coming to the Big Apple and got an enthusiastic response from our newest training partner Katy McGinty! Now I knew I was set.
I quickly hopped on Skype to let Dino (Dogan of Triberr fame) to let him know that, aside from getting my flight, I was all set. Now, Dino is never one to pass up an opportunity so he asked if I knew any potential sponsors. They needed one more to fill the roster. As I started to think about people and companies who might want exposure to an audience of active bloggers, I thought, I wish we could get RockLinkedIn.com in front of this audience.
RockLinkedIn.com is our complimentary (free) LinkedIn training and resource site. There are a few out there, but everyone charges $97 for access to their training materials. And while we thought about that, we’d rather give some valuable high quality video training, ebooks, and recorded topical webinars for free to help people who can’t otherwise afford the individual training and focus on selling to our corporate market. Besides, there are a lot of employed people out there too who need help with LinkedIn and are excited to share it with their employer when they find a great resource!
But I digress… I asked Dino how much the sponsorship he needed was. When he told me, I said “SOLD!” I mean, for that, even to promote a free site, to this audience is a no-brainer. (But I’m pretty sure I surprised him!)
So, it seems I’m going to NY AND Sponsoring an important conference for bloggers. If you’re anywhere near the city, I strongly encourage you to arrange or rearrange your plans so you can attend. The caliber of the people you’ll meet (hey, I’ll be there!) and the valuable lessons you’ll learn will make the time and trouble worth it.
This is truly a don’t miss it event! “The Awesome Five” speakers are:
- Geoff Livingston who will present “Attention: How To Get It, Keep It, and Leverage It.”
- Robert Moore sharing “How to Use Social Platforms to Find Your Audience, Build Relationships and Create Advocates”
- Lena West on “How to Leverage Influence to Drive Real Business Growth”
- Actor/Comedian Brendan Fitzgibbons will present “How To Be Funny”, and,
- Dino Dogan will tell us all about “Mythbusting the Blogosphere”
When you register, leave a comment below or send me a note so we can plan to connect and learn together. I’ll even give you a personal tour of RockLinkedIn.com!
