Did you know that LinkedIn actually assigns a serial number to its users? It’s sequential so you can tell what “order’ people joined LinkedIn.
I actually joined LinkedIn a long, long time ago. Investigation shows that my LinkedIn user ID number is 125,841.
I actually met someone with an ID in the 10,000′s last month. WOW!
LinkedIn also shows you when you joined, down to the date. In my particular case, that would be January 14, 2004.
So, you are probably asking one or two questions:
1. How do I see WHEN I joined LinkedIn?
You are one click away from finding out. Simply click on the LinkedIn Accounts and Settings text link. It is at the top of every LinkedIn screen. It is shown below in the top red square.
Upon clicking, you will be at the LinkedIn Accounts & Settings Screen itself. Your join date is shown in the second red square below. This screen shows January 14, 2004.
2. “How do I find out what my LinkedIn user ID number is”?
It’s actually very easy. The left navigation panel appears on all LinkedIn screens. Just move your mouse over the “View My Profile” text link in the left navigation panel and then look down in the lower corner of your browser bar. There is a long, ugly string that is actually a URL. It contains your LinkedIn user ID number. For example, mine says 125,841.
